Saigon Station

Saigon Station (Ga Sài Gòn) is the southern terminal of the North–South railway in Ho Chi Minh City, about 4 km from Ben Thanh Market.

The station has retained the Saigon name, and it’s shown on the timetables as Saigon.

Ga Sai Gon

There is an antique train on display at the front of the station.

The station has a public seating area inside the main hall.

Banh mi shop at Saigon Station

There are also some vendors outside the station where can get drinks and food (usually banh mi and banh bao).

I always like to arrive a bit earlier to sit outside and enjoy a banh mi and ca phe sua da.

Breakfast at Saigon Station

Passengers have to wait until an announcement is made to enter the platform area.

A board with train numbers indicates which platform to go to.

There are even some vendors on the platform if you regret not having a banh mi before you left.

Saigon Station transport

Taxis swarm the station when a train arrives, or you can book a ride-hailing taxi.

There isn’t a useful bus service to the station, and the HCMC Metro doesn’t go to Saigon Station.
